Dear Collector: It is a great pleasure for me to present you this first edition of the chess stamp catalogue. For our first time we have published a fully colored catalogue with an innovating design. We would like to give to the chess enthusiastics the opportunity to collect most of the historical moments, the great tournaments, the main characters, placed on the stamps issued in different countries round the world. This collection dates back to the year 1947, when Bulgaria emitted the first issue dedicated at the Balkan Games. Since then most of the countries in the world have issued successives sets and later on we have put them together to create this amazing thematic collection. Apart from this outstanding catalogue, we present the issue of an exclusive album for these stamps with its annual suplements, being both essential instruments for your collection. Another aspect of this catalogue are the quotations, presented for the first time in pesetas, euros and dollars. We have tried to collect the most accurate and extensive information but as a request, we would be very greatfull if you would let us know any mistake or omission occurring in this issue for being able to improve the new catalogues and issues in the future.
