Red Letters - The Correspondence Chess Championships of the Soviet Union
by Sergey Grodzensky and Tim Harding

libri di scacchi, chess books

The book ‘Red Letters’ is co-authored by CC-GM Sergey Grodzensky and Tim Harding. This was a labour of love that has taken more than five years to bring to fruition.

The book has 160 regular pages in a larger format than Chess Mail: the same size as ‘New In Chess’ or ‘Kaissiber’. Additionally there are 8 pages of art paper for good quality black-and-white photographs, and there is a bonus CD-ROM in the back.

Tim Harding has been collecting and editing the games for years. Almost 3,000 were played in the finals; we have more than 1,400 of them. The games will be on a CD accompanying the book, because in print the number of games that can be accommodated is of course relatively small.

The CD is not as elaborate as MegaCorr3. However, it contains the games in various formats - including games from USSR team championships and other Soviet events. The original Russian text, but not the English text, is also included (in Acrobat PDF format).
