Martin Weteschnik has made a name for himself as an author of several books on chess tactics. His first CD consists of two parts. In the first database he dwells on his theories on tactics, while the second database he makes use of the advantages of a modern database program, above all the function training question - a test makes the theoretically schooled user ready for practice. In both databases, the author has used the modern techniques of audio and videoclips. Here is an extract from the introduction to "The School of Elementary Tactics": "What constitutes a combination? Secrets of the English Chess School by D.King

Only a few top chess players know how to share their grandmasterly thinking with others. Without any doubt, English grandmaster Daniel King is one of them. Apart from the introduction, the CD at hand contains 29 databases issued between 1995 and 2000 when King was in charge of the “Strategy“ column of the ChessBase Magazine. Killer moves by G.Renko 

If you occupy yourself with chess - i.e. study games, variations, endgames etc. - you store a lot of pictures in your memory, consciously or subconsciously. The more of these you can retrieve during a game, the better you play. Of course, there are also a number of additional factors determining the successful realization of this theory in practice.
